Omaha lost despite recording 14 hits to Colorado Springs' five. The Storm Chasers were 2-for-15 with runners in scoring position. Whit Merrifield extended his hitting streak to a career-best 16 games, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Merrifield's RBI followed a solo homer by Lane Adams in the second.

NW Arkansas Naturals (13-9)

The Naturals extended their winning streak to seven as the series moved to Tulsa for one game. Alex Liddi and Santiago Nessy hit solo homers. Nessy led the Naturals with two hits and two runs. Terrance Gore walked twice, drove in a run and posted his seventh steal. Matt Murray (five innings, four hits, one earned run, one walk, three strikeouts) earned the win with Mark Peterson (2 1/3 innings) and Daniel Stumpf (1 2/3 innings) recording scoreless outings.

Wilmington dropped to 1-1 vs. Winston-Salem. Cody Reed pitched well in defeat, fanning seven while allowing a run, four hits and two walks over six innings. KC's second-round pick in 2013 has a 2.01 ERA (five earned runs in 22 1/3 innings). Mauricio Ramos had three hits, boosting his average to .314. He's batting .368 over his last 10 games (14-for-38).
