Omaha Storm Chasers (12-16)

Omaha moved to 1-1 vs. the RedHawks. John Lamb notched the win, striking out seven while scattering two runs, seven hits and three walks over 5.1 IP. He has 34 strikeouts through 31.2 IP. Francisley Bueno made his first rehab outing, striking out two and allowing a hit in a scoreless frame. He's recovering from a contusion and sprain on his left little finger. Johnny Giavotella doubled twice, walked and scored a run. He became the 12th player in Omaha history to reach the 200 RBI mark. Lorenzo Cain (left groin strain) played center field and was 0-for-3.

NW Arkansas Naturals (11-18)

The Naturals lost a marathon opener vs. their in-state rivals. Both teams scored in the 14th, with Arkansas third baseman Kaleb Cowart delivering a go-ahead homer in the 15th. Starter Sam Selman fired 5.0 shutout innings, striking out five while holding the Travelers to three hits and two walks. He is ranked 13th among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Number four prospect Jorge Bonifacio led Northwest Arkansas with three hits and two RBI.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (12-14)

Wilmington 8, Carolina 1

HR: Bubba Starling (2)

Wilmington built an 8-0 lead in a road win, capped by a five-run fourth. Bubba Starling started the scoring with a two-run shot in the first. The Gardner-Edgerton High alum is ranked eighth among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Royals number three prospect Raul Mondesi added two hits, two RBI and a run. He is batting .301 (28-for-93). Christian Binford blanked Carolina for 7.0 innings, fanning eight, walking none and scattering three hits. The number 12 Royals prospect according to MLB.com, Binford lowered his ERA to 1.91 (6 ER in 28.1 IP).

Lexington Legends (12-17)

Hagerstown 7, Lexington 1

HR: None

The Legends dropped to 1-1 at Hagerstown. Luis Rico (4.0 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO) took the loss. Andrew Edwards worked the final 4.0 innings, striking out two while scattering two runs, seven hits and two walks. Elier Hernandez recorded two doubles and a run. Humberto Arteaga doubled home Hernandez in the eighth. Hernandez is KC's 11th-ranked prospect, while Arteaga checks in at number 19.
