Royals option Soler to Triple-A, call up Burns
June 3rd, 2017
KANSAS CITY -- The Royals on Saturday optioned outfielder Jorge Soler to Triple-A Omaha and recalled speedy outfielder Billy Burns.
The move became inevitable when Jorge Bonifacio, hitting .281 with seven home runs, claimed the right field spot weeks ago.
Soler, acquired in the offseason trade with the Cubs for closer Wade Davis, had not started in the field since May 23. He was hitting .164 with one home run and three RBIs in 18 games.
Burns, 27, was hitting .246 at Omaha with 13 stolen bases in 39 games. Burns was active for Saturday's game against the Indians.
