The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has placed third baseman Mike Moustakas on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb fracture, retroactive to May 5. In a corresponding move, the club has recalled infielder Chesler Cuthbert from Omaha (AAA).
Cuthbert, 23, was hitting .333 with four doubles, seven homers and 28 RBI in his first 24 games with the Storm Chasers.
