Royals Recall Jakob Junis; Option Seth Maness to Triple-A Omaha

The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis from Omaha (AAA). Junis (#65) will be the starting pitcher in tonight's game against the Houston Astros at 7:15 p.m. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Seth Maness has been optioned to Omaha.

The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis from Omaha (AAA). Junis (#65) will be the starting pitcher in tonight's game against the Houston Astros at 7:15 p.m. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Seth Maness has been optioned to Omaha.
Junis, 24, will be making his second Major League start, entering tonight at 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three appearances with the Royals. He's gone 2-2 with a 2.34 ERA in seven starts for the Storm Chasers, ranking seventh in the Pacific Coast League with 57 strikeouts in 42.1 innings.
