Royals representatives contacting individuals with ticket purchase concerns

In regards to the issues with postseason ticket purchases yesterday, the Kansas City Royals have released the following statement:

"Yesterday morning, the Kansas City Royals began the much anticipated ticket sales for potential 2014 MLB Postseason Wild Card and American League Division Series games at Kauffman Stadium. Powered by its ticketing technology provider, Tickets.com, the box office and online sales began as scheduled. Through its normal course, Tickets.com carefully monitored the sale and purchase of tickets and upon identifying irregularities in checkout times from a third-party processing vendor immediately took steps to securely manage traffic through the purchase flow, ensuring every patron had the same opportunity to purchase tickets during Thursday's historically-high online order process. During this time some patrons experienced slower than expected checkout times, potentially resulting in errors completing transactions. Online customers who experienced technical difficulties in purchasing tickets for potential 2014 Postseason Wildcard and American League Division Championship games have been identified and will be contacted directly. Some patrons may have noticed pending charges attributed to their credit or debit cards from attempting to purchase tickets. While these normally clear in 7 to 10 business days, Tickets.com will work closely with the Royals and the appropriate credit card processors to expedite this process and ensure any funds held for abandoned transactions are released. Tickets.com apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused the Royals and their loyal fans."
