Royals to celebrate postseason appearance at Country Club Plaza

"Take the Crown Day" Set for Tuesday, September 30

The Kansas City Royals are encouraging fans to show their Royals pride by taking part in the "Take the Crown Day" at the Country Club Plaza on Tuesday, September 30.

Kansas City's famous Country Club Plaza will be blanketed in Royal blue on Tuesday morning in anticipation of the team's first Postseason appearance in 29 years. 

Members of the Royals front office, along with Sluggerrr and the KCrew, will be distributing Royals t-shirts and merchandise to morning commuters near the iconic J.C. Nichols Fountain beginning at 7:30 a.m. In addition, face painters, bucket boys, stilt walkers and other interactive activities will be on site, along with the Be Royal Fan Express bus. Kansas City Mayor Sly James and Jackson Country Executive Mike Sanders are also scheduled to appear. Fans are encouraged to join the Royals for this fun event and show support for the Boys in Blue in advance of the Wild Card tilt with the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.

The Royals plan to be on site at the J.C. Nichols Foundation until approximately 9 a.m.
