Royals-White Sox postponed due to rain

Suspended game to be resumed before Sunday's finale

CHICAGO -- The conclusion of Friday night's game, which was suspended after eight innings with the game tied at 2-2, and Saturday's regularly scheduled game between the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals at U.S. Cellular Field were postponed due to a forecast of continuing rain and inclement weather throughout Saturday.

A makeup date for Saturday's 1:10 p.m. CT start has not been determined. Fans should keep their tickets and parking coupons for the April 25 game until a rescheduled date and time have been announced.

Friday's suspended game will be resumed with the start of the ninth inning prior to Sunday's regularly scheduled game. The suspended game will begin at 1:10 p.m. CT, and the regularly scheduled game will begin following the conclusion of the suspended game.

Fans with tickets dated April 26 will be allowed to enter the ballpark to see both games. Tickets dated for April 24 will not be accepted for entry into the ballpark on Sunday. Fans with tickets to the April 24 game can bring their ticket to the U.S. Cellular Field box office and purchase a discounted outfield reserved seat for $10 for the April 26 game only.

Gates to the ballpark will open at 11:40 a.m. CT Sunday. Comcast SportsNet Chicago, WSCR-AM 670 The Score and WRTO-AM 1200/Univision Radio will broadcast both games on Sunday.

Saturday's promotional Jose Abreu Rookie of the Year Blanket and the pre-game Girl Scout parade also will be rescheduled for a date later this season. The scheduled pitching matchup for Saturday was John Danks for the White Sox vs. Edinson Volquez for the Royals, while Sunday's matchup featured Hector Noesi vs. Jason Vargas. Danks will now face Volquez on Sunday.
