PITTSBURGH -- Ryan Braun crushed a pair of two-run home runs to center field, powering the Brewers past the Pirates, 8-4, at PNC Park on Friday.
"Maybe the wind was blowing out when I hit those balls," Braun joked. "I think it was blowing in a little bit, but it's obviously warmer than it typically is here this time of year. So I think, knock on wood, we've been pretty fortunate with the weather."

Braun finished the game 3-for-5, raising his season average to .297. The home runs were his second and third of the young season, and he raised his RBI total to seven.
The Brewers put constant pressure on the Pirates with 11 hits and 10 walks. The team's plate discipline has served them well.
"As a team, we've had much better plate discipline so far this season," Braun said. "We've had a lot of really good at-bats. We haven't necessarily seen the results that we would like to see, but over the long haul if we continue to have good at-bats and continue to swing at strikes and put pressure on the opponent, they really have to grind to get through our lineup."
