Sabean: Giants not looking to move Lincecum

SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants general manager Brian Sabean indicated that Tim Lincecum will stay put for the rest of the season. And the right-hander couldn't be happier.

"I've always had a great time here and I hope to see it go further," Lincecum said Thursday after the Giants held a light workout at AT&T Park.

Trade speculation has hovered around Lincecum, who's eligible for free agency after this season. But Sabean quashed such whispering on his weekly radio show on KNBR-AM, the Giants' flagship station.

"I expect Timmy to be in a Giant uniform," Sabean said. "I find it hard to believe that he'd pitch elsewhere this year."

Thursday would have been Lincecum's turn to pitch if it weren't for the All-Star break. The right-hander insisted that he felt good enough to start, even after his 148-pitch effort in last Saturday's no-hitter at San Diego.

"If today would have been that day, I'd be fine," Lincecum said.

"I'm just glad that he doesn't have a cast on his arm," Giants manager Bruce Bochy jokingly said.
