Austin Allen's hitting streak ended at 24 games Saturday night, but the catcher hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and enable Class A Fort Wayne to score a 2-1 walk-off win over Bowling Green.
Pinch-hitter Tyler Selesky (.350) followed Allen's sac fly with an RBI single -- the TinCaps' fourth hit in a two-run ninth.
Shortstop Ruddy Giron (.225) and second baseman Peter Van Gansen (.223) were each 2-for-4 with a run scored. They hit back-to-back singles to open the ninth.
Starting right-handed pitcher J.C. Cosme (3.38 ERA) allowed a run on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings for the TinCaps, who are 20-28 in the second half of the Midwest League and 56-62 overall.
Right-hander Corey Kimber (3-2, 3.38 ERA) allowed only a walk with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 otherwise perfect innings to get the win.
In the only moves in the Padres' system Saturday, right-handed pitcher Brandon Morrow was purchased by the Padres from Triple-A El Paso and left-handed reliever Buddy Baumann was optioned by the Padres to El Paso.
