Beware! THE SANDMAN?

Adam Sandler is a hero of mine. It's not only because of his work on Saturday Night Live or movies like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Punch Drunk Love, etc… It's also because of the guy Adam is to his friends and family. He never forgot where he came from. His production company, Happy Madison, has brought so many great comedies to life and has also put many of Sandler's buddies to work. In a business that is so often cutthroat, "The Sandman" is showing us all that looking out for the people that support you is the best way to go.

Now, I won't admit to loving every movie that Adam has brought to the big screen. I'll say that I shifted a bit in my seat while watching "Zohan". Hey, call it like it is, right? It's not like one iffy review from me is going to hurt the empire he's created. No, in my opinion, Sandler is batting over .850 with his movies. My mother even gets a laugh out of watching him. She'll say things like, "That kid is a goofball but you gotta love him."

It's recently been announced that the one-time Canteen Boy will voice Transylvania's own Count Dracula in Sony Pictures upcoming animated comedy Hotel Transylvania, due out next year. Sandler? A member of the undead? Hey, why not?

I've seen 8 Crazy Nights more than a handful of times. Voicing a cartoon is well within Adam's tool kit. I've always believed that inside Dracula was a funny guy waiting to get out. Maybe The Sandman will show us a different side of the legendary, blood-sucking icon. Maybe his victims will be too busy laughing to care about being bitten by the Sandler version of the A #1 Vampire. Imagine Dracula slowly creeping into your room, unfurling his cape and saying, "I vant to suck your blood…TALLY HOO HOO!"

As is always the case, I will see this movie when it's released. I'm a fan of Adam Sandler and root for him the way I would for any of my favorite baseball players. He is in the same class with Graig Nettles, Paul O'Neill, Goose Gossage, Dave Winfield and Derek Jeter for me. So, Sandler as Dracula? Sure….KNIBB HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!
