Here's MLB Pipeline's roundup of the top prospect performances in the Minor Leagues on Saturday.
After a recent rough stretch, Kyle Wright put his struggles behind him with arguably the finest outing of his career.
The Braves' No. 2 prospect (No. 28 overall) fired a career-high seven scoreless innings on Saturday as Double-A Mississippi blanked Jackson, 2-0. He permitted five hits and one walk, striking out five and generating another nine outs on the ground in the outing. He threw a season-high 101 pitches, 66 for strikes.
Assigned to Double-A for his first full season, Wright, the No. 5 overall pick in last year's Draft, began his campaign with back-to-back scoreless performances but largely scuffled across his subsequent five starts, going 1-3 with a 6.56 ERA and a .300/.373/.422 opponents' slash line in 23 1/3 innings.

Wright lowered his ERA from 4.94 to 4.03 with Saturday's start, his eighth this season for Mississippi. The 22-year-old righty has 39 strikeouts in 38 innings, and he's allowed just one home run and generated more than twice as many ground-ball outs as air outs.

• No. 17 overall prospect Kyle Tucker (Astros' No. 2) crushed his third home run of the season en route to a 3-for-4 performance for Triple-A Fresno. The 21-year-old outfielder scored a pair of runs and drove in another two on the night. It marked the fifth multi-hit effort for Tucker in his past 10 games, during which he's improved his season average from .278 to .294 and racked up nine runs and nine RBIs.

• No. 22 overall prospect Hunter Greene (Reds' No. 2) got back on track for Class A Dayton, as the 2017 No. 2 overall pick completed a career-high four scoreless innings. After giving up 13 earned runs and issuing nine walks in 4 1/3 innings across his previous three starts, the 18-year-old right-hander rebounded by allowing just two hits and zero walks while fanning five. He routinely hit 100 mph with his fastball, including with his final pitch of the outing.

• No. 71 overall prospect Albert Abreu (Yankees' No. 5) fired six innings of one-hit ball in his best start of the season for Class A Advanced Tampa. It was a season-long outing for the 22-year-old right-hander, as he allowed two runs (one earned), issued two walks and struck out seven en route to his first victory of 2018.

• After hitting a two-run home run in his first at-bat Saturday, No. 80 overall prospect Tyler O'Neill (Cardinals' No. 3) has now gone deep 10 times in just 25 games for Triple-A Memphis. What's more, the 22-year-old masher is hitting .316/.327/.663 with 26 RBIs in that span, albeit with strikeout and walk rates of 22.1 and 1.8 percent, respectively.

• Blue Jays No. 19 prospect Kevin Smith ripped a pair of doubles and finished 3-for-5, marking his seventh three-hit performance and 13th multi-hit game this season for Class A Lansing. The 21-year-old shortstop is putting up monstrous numbers, as he currently paces the Midwest League in hits (50), doubles (19), RBIs (31), slugging percentage (.636) and total bases (85). His .376 average and 1.057 OPS, meanwhile, both rank third.
• D-backs No. 7 prospect Taylor Clarke matched his season high with nine strikeouts and completed seven innings for the second time in three starts in an impressive showing for Triple-A Reno. He allowed just two hits, one being a solo home run, and generated 10 ground-ball outs before departing with a season-high 94 pitches (61 strikes).

• Indians No. 27 prospect Mitch Longo cleared the bases with an eighth-inning grand slam, his first home run of 2018, in Class A Advanced Lynchburg's 18-1 rout of Salem. The 23-year-old outfielder scored three runs out of the leadoff spot and also reached once via a walk as he snapped an 0-for-10 skid with a 2-for-6 showing. He's hitting .288/.352/.396 on the season, with nine extra-base hits and 11 RBIs in 28 games.
• Padres No. 22 prospect Chris Paddack once again was lights-out for Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore. Making his third start since returning from Tommy John surgery, the 22-year-old righty posted a season-best 10 strikeouts while allowing just two hits in six scoreless frames. Paddack logged a stellar 0.85 ERA, 0.59 WHIP and 71-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 42 1/3 innings before undergoing season-ending surgery in 2016. Since returning, he's worked 16 scoreless frames in which he's permitted eight hits and one walk while piling up 26 strikeouts.
• Pirates No. 7 prospect Kevin Newman matched his career high with four hits and delivered his first homer of the season, a leadoff blast that ultimately proved to be the difference in Triple-A Indianapolis' 2-1 win over Columbus. Newman also tallied a double, his 10th this season, as he finished 4-for-4 in his third straight multi-hit game.

• Rays No. 13 prospect Joe McCarthy went deep for a third straight game as he helped power Triple-A Durham past Charlotte, 10-3. McCarthy's homer, a second-inning solo shot, was his fourth of the year. No. 61 overall prospect Jake Bauers (Rays' No. 5) also homered in the Bulls' victory, and he and shortstop Willy Adames (No. 23 overall, Rays' No. 2) combined for five hits and three runs scored.
• Royals No. 12 prospect Carlos Hernandez allowed one hit over five scoreless innings and matched his career high with nine strikeouts in his second start of the season for Class A Lexington. The performance was a stark improvement over his May 6 season debut, when the 21-year-old right-hander lasted just 2 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on two hits and four walks.

• Tigers No. 10 prospect Christin Stewart connected on his fourth home run in nine games for Triple-A Toledo. The 24-year-old slugger's nine home runs lead the International League, where he's slashed .300/.377/.608 with 25 RBIs and a vastly improved 14-to-23 walk-to-strikeout ratio through 33 games.
