Scott Bream returns to Tigers organization

Bream will serve as Club’s Director, Pro Scouting

 

The Detroit Tigers today announced Scott Bream has returned to the organization and he will serve as Director, Pro Scouting.

In his role as Director, Pro Scouting, Bream will assist Scott Reid (Detroit’s Vice President, Player Personnel) with the coordination of the club’s major league scouts, as well as scout at the major league level and assist the organization with special assignments.

Bream returns to the Tigers after spending two seasons (2011-12) with the San Diego Padres as a Major League Scout/Special Assistant to the General Manager.

He first joined Detroit’s scouting team in 1999 as an advance scout. After three years (1999-2001) as the club’s advance scout, Bream was named the Tigers Assistant General Manager prior to the start of the 2002 season. After his stint as the Assistant General Manager, he worked as a major league scout with Detroit for nine seasons (2002-10) before departing for the Padres organization.

Bream played 10 seasons at the minor league level with the Padres (1989-95), Chicago Cubs (1995) and Tigers (1996-98). He saw action with Double A Jacksonville and Triple A Toledo during his three seasons as a player with the Tigers organization.
