Former A's left-hander Sean Nolin was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Monday. Nolin had been designated for assignment on Feb. 12 to open up a roster spot for outfielder Khris Davis, whom Oakland acquired from the Brewers.
Acquired last offseason as part of the trade that sent Josh Donaldson to the Blue Jays, Nolin battled injuries for much of 2015. After undergoing sports hernia surgery last offseason, an early-season groin injury led to Nolin spending more than a month on the disabled list.
Upon his return, the 26-year-old southpaw went 2-2 with a 2.66 ERA over 14 outings at Triple-A Nashville, before making his A's debut on Sept. 6. He went on to go 1-2 with a 5.28 ERA in six starts following his September callup.
