Tampa Bay Rays offer Season Ticket Holders opportunity to give back to local charities

Through the generosity of the Tampa Bay Rays, their season ticket holders and the non-profit children's organization, Seats of Dreams, local children will have the opportunity to see the Rays play at Tropicana Field throughout the summer.

The Rays have partnered with Seats of Dreams to create a program that easily allows season ticket holders to donate tickets to deserving youth organizations in the Tampa Bay area.

"Many of our season ticket holders have indicated they would like to participate in such a program and we are grateful for their desire to join us in providing a major league experience to children and families who for various reasons may not otherwise have that opportunity," said Rays Senior Vice President Mark Fernandez.

A donation of at least two Rays single-game tickets can be donated up to 24 hours prior to a game. There is no charge for donating tickets to Seats of Dreams and donated tickets will be provided to local charities that serve children and families. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg and the Children's Dream Fund are among the dozens of local charities targeted for this program.

To donate tickets, season ticket holders simply log into their "My Rays Account" and forward tickets to [email protected]. Season ticket holders who donate their tickets will receive an email tax receipt for their donation from Seats of Dreams, a non-profit 501(c)(3). Many donors receive pictures and thank you cards received by Seats of Dreams showing just how special their donation was for the children.

"This is something to me that seems just so simple," Seats of Dreams Co-Founder, David Bieber said. "To take a ticket that would otherwise go unused and to instead enable a child to experience a childhood dream-what could be more rewarding?"

Ricky Gallon, Community Relations Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, recognized the opportunity the program is providing for the families of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.

"Seats of Dreams and the Tampa Bay Rays are providing many families the opportunity to attend their first professional baseball game," Gallon said. "You can't imagine what this means to these families."
