Second Annual Match Day Scheduled For Thursday, March 14

Mark and Debbie Attanasio and Brewers Community Foundation Support the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Efforts to Make a Difference in the Milwaukee Area

On Thursday, March 14, community members have the opportunity to work together as a team and make a difference in the Greater Milwaukee area by participating in the second annual Match Day.  This one-day online event, coordinated by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, in partnership with Brewers Community Foundation and other local funders, will support 21 different basic needs organizations that serve as a lifeline to thousands of individuals and families in need.

Match Day offers individuals, businesses and others a chance to support the organizations in our community that are helping meet individuals’ basic needs.  Individuals can donate to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Basic Needs Fund or to one or more of the 21 participating agencies this Thursday.  Thanks to more than $750,000 in matching funds contributed by a pool of funders including Brewers Community Foundation, each donation made online on Thursday will be proportionately matched, up to $750,000.  The inaugural Match Day event raised more than $1.8 million last year.

Donations could feed a family that may otherwise go without food this week, aid a veteran who is struggling from post-traumatic stress disorder or provide shelter to someone who has just lost their home.

To make a donation, please visit www.matchdaymke.org on Thursday to help support the 21 Basic Needs Organizations in the Greater Milwaukee Area. Gifts can be made during the 24-hour online giving event on Thursday.  The minimum gift is $10.

Mark and Debbie Attanasio along with Brewers Community Foundation are the major sponsors for Match Day and have donated financially to this cause. Co-sponsors include The Faye McBeath Foundation and United Way of Greater Milwaukee.
