LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Former Mets stars Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, John Franco and Edgardo Alfonzo will appear at a fundraiser for late team staffer Shannon Forde next month at Foley's NY Pub and Restaurant in Manhattan.
Hernandez, Darling, Franco, Alfonzo and longtime Giants punter Sean Landeta will sign autographs from 7-9 p.m. on April 6, with proceeds going to the Forde Childrens' Fund. Forde, who joined the Mets as an intern in 1994 and rose to become their senior director of media relations, passed away earlier this month following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She left behind a husband and two children.
Proceeds from food and drink sales at the Foley's event will also benefit the Childrens' Fund. Donations can be made directly to the fund at PO Box 718, Little Ferry, N.J., 07643.
