GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- After a rough first inning, D-backs right-hander Shelby Miller found a way to settle in and turn in a decent outing in Sunday afternoon's 9-3 victory over the Reds.
Miller was in trouble right from the start, rushing a throw to first for an error that allowed Billy Hamilton to reach second base. He also walked a pair in the frame.
After those three unearned runs in the first, Miller was able to settle in and he didn't allow another run over five total innings, striking out six batters.

"The last four innings I felt strong," Miller said. "Just made some adjustments, trying to stay on top of the ball. I felt like the first inning I was trying to be too fine with my pitches. It's just all about getting it down in the zone and just trying to execute the pitch. Like I said after that first inning, I felt like I did a good job of doing that."
Pollock playing
D-backs outfielder A.J. Pollock (elbow) played center field in a Minor League game Sunday.
Pollock, who has not played in a Cactus League game since March 8, was allowed to throw, but not swing the bat. He did, however, manage a bunt hit.
Pollock is likely to follow that routine for a couple of days, according to manager Chip Hale, and he could get into a Cactus League game in four days or so.
