Shields, Upton named American League Co-Players of the Week

RHP James Shields and OF B.J. Upton have been named the American League Co-Players of the Week.  Please see attached release from Major League Baseball.

It is the first time a Rays player has won this season. The last Rays player to win AL Player of the Week was James Shields on April 24, 2011.

It also marks the first time that two Rays were named AL Co-Players of the Week and the ninth time since 2000 that two teammates from any team shared the award (see list below).
