Jedd Gyorko was back in the lineup Tuesday, batting fifth and playing second base after missing three starts with a sore hamstring.

• First baseman Yonder Alonso, who is out for the rest of the season with torn tendons in his right forearm, will have surgery in Los Angeles on Friday by a hand specialist, he said. Alonso has been told the rehabilitation period is about five-to-seven weeks and that he'll be ready to take part in drills at the beginning of Spring Training in February.
