Bracho replaces Sherfy to bolster bullpen
PHOENIX -- After throwing two innings for the D-backs on Friday night, right-hander Jimmie Sherfy was optioned back to Triple-A Reno and righty Silvino Bracho was recalled.
With Sherfy having thrown two innings and unavailable to pitch Sunday, the team wanted to make sure it had an extra arm in the bullpen.
Being called up to provide bullpen depth is a familiar role for Bracho, who is in his fifth stint with the D-backs this year.
In 11 games for the D-backs this year, Bracho is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA.
Marte OK
Infielder Ketel Marte was feeling better Sunday morning after leaving Saturday night's game in the seventh inning with a cramp in his right hamstring.
Marte, who was out of the lineup Sunday as expected, was re-evaluated and the team is so confident that it was nothing more than a cramp that manager Torey Lovullo said no MRI was planned.
