• Nick Swisher's game-winning grand slam on Thursday marked the 74th walk-off home run in Progressive Field history (1994-present). That is by far the most by any Major League team over that time period. In that same span, the A's rank second with 56 walk-off home runs at the Coliseum. The Dodgers (51) and Red Sox (49) rank third and fourth, respectively.

• Swisher's slam on Thursday came in the 10th inning, giving him two extra-inning, game-winning home runs (he had a go-ahead solo shot in the 11th inning on Sunday in Boston) in a span of five days. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last Cleveland player to accomplish that same feat was Albert Belle (Aug. 30-31, 1995).

• On Friday, the Indians signed a pair of selections from the First-Year Player Draft. Cleveland reached deals with right-hander Luke Eubank (15th round) of Oxnard College (Calif.) and outfielder Jodd Carter (24th round) out of Hilo High School (Hawaii), bringing the team's total to 25 draftees signed.

• Indians outfield prospect Carlos Moncrief belted a three-run homer in the first inning of Triple-A Columbus' 7-4 loss to Buffalo on Thursday. That marked Moncrief's eighth homer of the season and his third in the past seven games for the Clippers.
