Smoke signals

Nyjer Morgan remains on the 60-day disabled list with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The outfielder has been rehabbing at the team's complex in Goodyear, Ariz., for the past two weeks.

"I think we're going to have an update on him tomorrow," Francona said.

• Rookie left-hander T.J. House tossed 64 of 87 pitches for strikes in Saturday night's outing, which saw him earn his first Major League win. He has thrown strikes on 66.3 percent of his pitches this season.

"I do feel sometimes I go in the strike zone a little too much," House said. "I got to learn how to expand a little bit more, especially later in the at-bats. That comes with learning up here. It's just a curve, and you got to get used to it."

• The Tribe rallied for 14 hits during Saturday's victory over the Royals, which was the team's highest total in a home game since recording 17 knocks against the Tigers on May 21. Brantley went 3-for-5, giving him a club-best eight three-hit games in 2014.
