Gray, Vogt lead A's All-Star candidates

TORONTO -- Sunday marked the official start of All-Star Balloting for the 2016 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard, which is scheduled for July 12 at Petco Park.
Nine A's players appear on the ballot: outfielder Josh Reddick, Khris Davis and Coco Crisp, catcher Stephen Vogt, infielders Yonder Alonso, Jed Lowrie, Marcus Semien and Danny Valencia, and designated hitter Billy Butler.
Vogt, who enjoyed his first All-Star selection last season alongside ace Sonny Gray, is off to another terrific start, entering Sunday's game in Toronto with a .309 average. The A's catcher has two home runs and is reaching base at a .350 clip.
Outfielder Josh Reddick and second baseman Jed Lowrie could also be worthy of consideration, with each seeking their first ticket to the Midsummer Classic. They lead the A's with 10 RBIs apiece.
Browsing the ballot
The other side: Over in the NL, it's hard not to keep up with Trevor Story. The rookie already has eight home runs and 14 RBIs on his resume, to go with a 1.021 OPS.
Tip of the cap: Even at the age of 37, Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre continues to produce, making him a player worth keeping in mind when making selections. Through his first 18 games, he's posted a .333/.373/.551 batting line with 12 RBIs.
A rising star: A pair of exciting youngsters who might get overlooked by AL fans resides in St. Louis: shortstop Aledmys Diaz and outfielder Jeremy Hazelbaker, each of whom have 10 RBIs for the Cardinals.
