St. Louis Cardinals Minor Leaguer Medina suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that St. Louis Cardinals Minor League right-handed pitcher Yeison Medina has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for heptaminol, a stimulant in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Medina, who is currently on the roster of the Gulf Coast League Cardinals League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 GCL season.
