Stassi undergoes surgery

Astros catcher Max Stassi underwent surgery yesterday to repair a hook of the hamate fracture of his left wrist, General Manager Jeff Luhnow announced today. He is expected to miss approximately six weeks. The surgery was performed by Dr. Thomas Mehlhoff in Houston, Texas.

HOUSTON, TX- Astros catcher Max Stassi underwent surgery yesterday to repair a hook of the hamate fracture of his left wrist, General Manager Jeff Luhnow announced today. He is expected to miss approximately six weeks. The surgery was performed by Dr. Thomas Mehlhoff in Houston, Texas. 
Stassi, 25, is entering his fourth season in the Astros organization. He appeared in six games this Spring Training and owns a career .357 (15x42) batting average in 21 games in the Major Leagues with the Astros over the last three years.
