The St. Louis Cardinals are hosting an exclusive Speaker Series event with Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty on Wednesday, August 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Busch Stadium.
As part of the event, Piscotty will offer unique insight into the Cardinals Clubhouse as well as discuss his successful rise within the Cardinals organization during a 45 minute Q&A session with broadcaster Dan McLaughlin.
"This is an extraordinary opportunity for fans to get to know our players in an intimate setting over lunch," said Julia Row, Director of Special Events. "We received tremendous feedback from our first daytime speaker series with Matt Holliday earlier this season. We are grateful that Stephen is taking the time to help us continue this exciting new event that fans won't want to miss."
In addition to the program, fans that purchase a ticket will enjoy lunch and drinks in the Cardinals Club and a photo opportunity on the warning track. This is the second Speaker Series event to feature a current Cardinals player.
Selected by the Cardinals out of Stanford University with the 36th overall pick in the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, Piscotty dominated each minor league level before making his Major League debut in July of 2015. Piscotty' s impact on the big league club was immediate, leading him to be named the organization's 2015 Minor League Player of the Year after batting .305 in 63 games with St. Louis and .272 with 41 RBI in 87 games in Memphis (AAA). Piscotty is enjoying a stellar 2016 season and currently leads the Redbirds in Hits, Runs Batted In and Total Bases. Recently, Piscotty was named the Cardinals' MLBPAA 2016 Heart and Hustle Award winner which honors players who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and traditions of the game.
Tickets for this Speaker Series event are $80 and can be purchased at cardinals.com/speakerseries.
