Strasburg to open Nats' second-half rotation

MIAMI -- Nationals manager Davey Johnson announced his rotation after his team returns from the All-Star break on Friday at Nationals Park.

Right-hander Stephen Strasburg will start Friday's series opener against the Dodgers, while left-hander Gio Gonzalez and right-hander Jordan Zimmermann will start Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Right-hander Dan Haren will open the series against the Pirates on Monday, while the Nationals are hoping that left-hander Ross Detwiler will start the second game of the set on Tuesday. Detwiler is on the disabled list because of back issues. He may have to do a rehab assignment before he returns to the Major League staff. If Detwiler is not ready, right-hander Taylor Jordan will make the start.

Detwiler had a cortisone shot recently to get rid of the pain in his back, according to Johnson.
