Street, Hudson added to National League All-star Team

National League All-Star manager Mike Matheny of the St. Louis Cardinals announced today, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, that right-handers Huston Street of the San Diego Padres and Tim Hudson of the San Francisco Giants have been added to the N.L.'s active roster for the 85^th All-Star Game. Street replaces teammate Tyson Ross and Hudson replaces teammate Madison Bumgarner. Both Ross and Bumgarner started games on Sunday afternoon and have elected not to be active in the All-Star Game.

This marks Street's second career All-Star Game, both of which have come in his three years with the Padres (other: 2012). In 33 games this season, Street has posted a 1.09 ERA (33.0 IP, 18 H, 7 BB, 34 SO). The University of Texas product has earned 24 saves on the year and has compiled 258 in his 10-year Major League career.

Hudson, who is in his first season with the Giants, is now an All-Star for the fourth time in his 16-year Major League career (previous: 2000, 2004, 2010). Hudson is 7-6 with a 2.87 ERA on the year (18 GS, 119.0 IP, 112 H, 19 BB, 78 SO). Hudson, who will turn 39 years old on Monday, joins teammate Hunter Pence on the N.L.'s active roster.

The 2014 All-Star Game will be played at Target Field on Tuesday, July 15^th. The 85^th All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 200 countries via MLB International's independent feed.
