Size matters. Well, at least that's what a new study out of the University of London suggests.
Researchers Hikaru Tsujimura and Michael J. Banissy claim that a baseball player's ability to hit home runs is directly correlated with a player’s face size. In fact, their study concludes players with wider faces hit more home runs.
Their analysis investigated 81 Japanese professional sluggers and showed that those with wider faces had a higher rate of hitting homers. Specifically, their analysis also concluded the following (as quoted in Science Magazine): “A high width-to-height ratio was linked to the strength of hand grip, the drive to achieve, and competitiveness.”
