Padres announce opportunity to "Swing for your Seats" on March 15

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced the opportunity for fans to step up to the plate at Petco Park, with two Season Tickets on the line. Beginning today, fans can register at www.padres.com/swing for the opportunity to "Swing for your Seats" on Saturday, March 15.

All fans, ages 16 and up (some restrictions apply), are invited to register online for the event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Online registration is mandatory to participate in the event. There will be a maximum of 1,000 participants, so early registration is recommended. Official contest rules and regulations are available at www.padres.com/swing.

Each registrant will face up to two pitches from a pitching machine set up on the mound, and each will have one swing to hit a pitch out of the park. A standard MLB wooden bat and a helmet will be provided to each participant for use during the contest. No outside bats will be permitted. Any participant who hits a homerun will win two 2014 Season Tickets in a location to be determined by the Padres.
