Tanner Allen would not go quietly into the night.

Coming off a hitless outing on Sunday, the Mississippi State outfielder sparkled on both sides of the ball to lead the Bulldogs to an 11-7 victory in a decisive Game 3 against Notre Dame to punch his school's ticket to the College World Series on Monday night.

MLB Pipeline's No. 149 Draft prospect collected a pair of knocks -- including a dinger -- drove in two runs and scored twice while also adding a sensational diving play in right field.

Allen lifted a fly fall into center field for a sacrifice fly in the second inning as part of a six-run frame for the Bulldogs. One inning later, the 23-year-old hammered a ball out to right-center for a solo blast to give Mississippi State a 7-1 advantage.

Allen manufactured a run in the fifth when he turned what appeared to be a routine base hit into extra bases with his legs. The outfielder made a heads up play again, advancing to third on a ground ball to the third baseman, before scampering home on an infield single by Scotty Dubrule.

And it wasn't just with his bat where Allen made his impact. In the fourth, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder came flying in from right field to make a diving play on a sinking line drive that would have scored at least one run and possibly two.

The Bulldogs will head to Omaha for the third straight time.

Niko Cavadas, MLB Pipeline's No. 139 Draft prospect, drilled a two-run blast to right with one out in the seventh to pull Notre Dame to within 11-7, but the Fighting Irish would not get any closer the rest of the way. Cavadas still performed well in the tournament, finishing with a .302 average and .473 OBP.

One night after helping Virginia force a decisive Game 3 against Dallas Baptist with a solo homer, the 21-year-old worked a four-pitch walk in the seventh and came around to score what was the go-ahead run at the time and ultimately proved to be the game-winning run when it was over.
