Texas Rangers announce 2016 spring training broadcast schedule

The Texas Rangers today announced their 2016 spring training broadcast schedule which includes ten television games, 16 radio contests, and nine free webcasts on texasrangers.com Gameday Audio.

The Texas Rangers today announced their 2016 spring training broadcast schedule which includes ten television games, 16 radio contests, and nine free webcasts on texasrangers.com Gameday Audio.
 
The Rangers' regular season television rightsholder, FOX Sports Southwest is scheduled to carry six games, beginning with the Thursday, March 10 contest versus the Chicago White Sox at Surprise (2:05 p.m. CT). In addition, both games of the Rangers-Kansas City Royals Big League Weekend matchup at the Alamodome in San Antonio will be televised: Friday, March 18 on FSSW+ (7:05 p.m. CT) and Saturday, March 19 on FSSW (2:05 p.m. CT). The final three FSSW telecasts will originate from Surprise, Monday, March 21 vs. Colorado (3:05 p.m. CT) and a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 23. The Rangers matchup with the Chicago Cubs will be carried at 3:05 p.m. CT, followed by the game between prospects from the Rangers and Cubs organizations beginning approximately 30 minutes after the end of the first game.
 
TXA21 will carry four games, three from Surprise: Saturday, March 12 vs. Oakland (2:05 p.m. CT); Sunday, March 20 vs. the Los Angeles Angels (3:05 p.m. CT), and Sunday, March 27 vs. Arizona (3:05 p.m. CT). TXA21's final spring telecast will be the spring training finale on Saturday, April 2 vs. Cleveland at Globe Life Park in Arlington (1:05 p.m. CT).
 
The Rangers' radio flagship, 105.3 The FAN will carry 16 games beginning with the opener on Wednesday, March 2 versus Kansas City at Surprise Stadium (2:05 p.m. CT). The remainder of the radio schedule will consist of weekday night games and all weekend contests. A number of stations on the Texas Rangers radio network will also carry the games.
 
The nine free webcasts on texasrangers.com Gameday Audio begin on Thursday, March 3, when the Rangers host Kansas City at Surprise Stadium at 2:05 p.m. CT.
 
Steve Busby, Tom Grieve, and Dave Raymond will provide television coverage while Eric Nadel, Matt Hicks, and Raymond will call the majority of the spring radio games.
 
The Rangers Spanish flagship radio station ESPN Deportes 1540 will carry the final two spring training games vs. Cleveland on Friday, April 1 (7:05 p.m. CT) and Saturday, April 2 (1:05 p.m. CT) at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Eleno Ornelas and Jose Guzman will team on the Spanish broadcasts in 2016.
