Texas Rangers announce details for Social Media Weekend, June 28-30

Second #TexasTweetUp on June 29 to highlight three days of activities pitcher Robbie Ross to take part in #TexasTweetUp

Arlington, TX—The Texas Rangers and @Rangers today announced details for the team’s 2013 Social Media Weekend, June 28-30 when the Cincinnati Reds come to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The three days of activities will be highlighted by the return of #TexasTweetUp on Saturday, June 29. The event will take place for the second straight year and is a great opportunity for all social media-minded Rangers fans to participate in a special pregame program as well as attend that night’s Texas-Cincinnati game at 6:15 p.m. at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Space is limited for #TexasTweetUp and packages can be purchased on-line at texasrangers.com/texastweetup.

All fans who purchase the package will have access to an exclusive pregame #TexasTweetUp event in the Hall of Fame Theater from 4:15-5:15 p.m. Rangers radio broadcaster Matt Hicks (@radiohicksie) will host a roundtable discussion featuring members of the media who cover the team every day. There will be other special guests, including Rangers pitcher Robbie Ross (@Ross_108).

Of course, tweeting will be encouraged by all throughout the event!

The #TexasTweetUp package also includes a ticket to the Rangers-Reds game and a special edition #TexasTweetUp-themed promo item. Tickets for the pregame event are available for $39.00 and include a seat in the Upper Box for the game. Event-only passes are available for $15.00, but fans must have a ticket to the game.  Event-only passes do not grant ballpark entry.

The Social Media Weekend activities begin on Friday, June 28 when the Rangers and Reds open their series at 7:05 p.m. Special baseballs stamped with @Rangers will be utilized for batting practice that day for both the Rangers and Reds. Once the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington gates open at 4:30 p.m. that day, fans catching any BP baseball marked #Winner can redeem the ball for a prize. Please note that this promotion may be moved to another date in the event the teams don’t hit outside that day.

The Social Media Weekend concludes on June 30 with special Social Ticket Offers in two seating locations: Upper Box at $19.00 ($5.00 savings) and Upper Reserved at $14.00 ($5.00 savings). Enter SOCIAL as the coupon code online to take advantage of this special offer. Game time for the Texas-Cincinnati series finale is 2:05 p.m.  Additionally, 10 @Rangers followers and one guest will be randomly selected to attend the game on June 30 and sit in the first Rangers Social Suite.
