Texas' challenge on double play unsuccessful
ARLINGTON -- Rangers manager Ron Washington took a chance on challenging a double-play ball hit by Adrian Beltre in the eighth inning Saturday night against the Red Sox.
With the Rangers trailing 8-3, Beltre hit a bouncer back to Boston reliever Junichi Tazawa, who threw to shortstop Xander Bogaerts at second. Replays showed that Bogaerts' throw narrowly beat Beltre to first base, completing the double play.
The ruling was confirmed after a review of one minute, 10 seconds.
