ANDRUS ADDITION: Elvis Andrus' wife, Cori gave birth to Elvis Emilio at 1:22 a.m. on Thursday morning. Little Elvis, who weighed 8.1 pounds and measured 20.5 inches in length at birth, and Cori are doing fine. Big Elvis was placed on the MLB Paternity Leave List on Wednesday and can remain on that list for a maximum of 72 hours. Wednesday marked the first time that Andrus has not been on the active roster for a regular season game since he made his big league debut on opening day in 2009.
MARTINEZ OPTIONED TO ROUND ROCK: The Rangers announced today that right-handed pitcher Nick Martinez has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock effective after Wednesday night's game. Texas will make a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's game with the Los Angeles Angels. Martinez is 3-3, 4.56 in 14 games/11 starts with the Rangers since his recall on April 21. He is expected to start for Round Rock on Sunday versus Colorado Springs. 
RANGERS TO WEAR BLUE JERSEYS ON FRIDAY: The Rangers will wear blue jerseys for Friday's game against the Angels in tribute to the five police officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty in downtown Dallas on July 7, 2016. The team will also observe a moment of silence prior to the game and encourage fans to wear blue as a tribute to these brave officers.
