Right forearm soreness ends Grimm's tough night

DETROIT -- Justin Grimm had a bad night in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Tigers in more ways than one. After allowing seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, the right-hander exited with right forearm soreness.

Grimm left with the Rangers trailing, 7-2. The report out of the Rangers' clubhouse was Grimm was removed as a precautionary measure and the injury is not considered serious. The Rangers already have seven pitchers on the disabled list.

"Discouraging? Yeah," Grimm said. "I try to take care of myself as best I can and do all my work between starts. I take pride in staying healthy and going out there every fifth day. This is not what the team needs, especially with what we're going through. Hopefully, I can get back out there as quick as I can."

Grimm allowed seven runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out three. He threw 70 pitches and his ERA went up to 6.37.
