Texas Rangers to recall three players from Round Rock on Tuesday

Ross Wolf, Engel Beltre, and Joey Butler to rejoin Major League club

The Texas Rangers announced today that the club will recall right-handed pitcher Ross Wolf and outfielders Engel Beltre and Joey Butler from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League, effective on Tuesday. Round Rock completed its season today.

All three players have spent previous time with the Rangers this season. Wolf was 1-3, 4.14 in 21 games/3 starts with Texas from May 22-August 30. The righthander was 1-1, 1.77 in 7 games/6 starts at Round Rock and 0-1, 5.40 in one game at Double-A Frisco in 2013.

Beltre hit .278 (10-36) with 2 RBI in 17 games in stints with Texas from June 23-August 2 and August 5-13. The left-handed batter had a .292 average (115-394) with 7 homers and 34 RBI in 94 games at Round Rock. Butler was 2-for-4 in 2 games with the Rangers from August 5-10. The right-handed batter hit .291 (124-426) with 12 homers and 51 RBI in 119 games at Round Rock. Both Beltre and Butler made their major league debuts this season.

With the additions, Texas will have 35 players on its active roster. Its major league roster remains at the 40-man limit.
