Greater Kansas City Day is a fundraiser for Rotary Youth Camp to assist in funding events for other children's charities through sales of a special section of The Kansas City Star and exclusive flags. The honorary co-chairs for this year's event are Royals Hall of Famer Frank White and Price Chopper's Vice President of Marketing, Casie Broker.
The First Pitch Party at Union Station will allow fans to purchase newspapers and flags and meet more than twenty Kansas City sports celebrities including Royals Hall of Famer John Mayberry, former Royals players Jaime Bluma, Jim Eisenreich, Brian McRae, Joe Randa and Joe Vitiello, Chiefs kicker Dustin Colquitt, Pro Football Hall of Famer Bobby Bell and former Chiefs quarterback Warren Moon. Throughout the morning, fans will also have the opportunity to take photos with Royals mascot Sluggerrr and KayCee the "W" guy, visit face painting and balloon artist stations, take their photo in a special "Raised Royal" photo booth, get free donuts and much more. In addition, fans can enter to win great prizes including Opening Day tickets and a Crown Center weekend gift package. For more information, please visit www.royals.com/gkcday.
