OAKLAND -- Robinson Chirinos hit a three-run home run, and Ryan Rua and Elvis Andrus each added a solo shot to help the Rangers secure a 10-6 victory over the A's at the Coliseum on Tuesday night.
Texas left-hander Martin Perez allowed four runs in seven innings in the win, his first on the road since April 23, 2014. He was 0-9 with a 4.85 ERA in his last 14 starts on the road.
"That was a big bounceback game for us," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said after his team snapped a four-game losing streak to the Athletics.

The A's got just 2 1/3 innings from left-hander Eric Surkamp, who surrendered seven runs on seven hits, including two home runs, and two walks. Oakland left fielder Khris Davis had two hits and as many RBIs, and Yonder Alonso chipped in with a two-run double in the ninth.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Rua cleans up: Rangers first baseman Rua was moved to the cleanup spot for the first time and delivered. He had a sacrifice fly in the first inning, a home run to lead off the fourth and a run-scoring single in the ninth. Rua started at first base with Mitch Moreland getting the night off as the Rangers continue to look to get Rua playing time even with Shin-Soo Choo back off the disabled list.
"I was just trying to stick to my routine and do the same thing I normally do, no matter where I'm in the lineup," Rua said.

Surkamp stumbles: Surkamp remains winless with the A's following another disappointing outing. Recalled from Triple-A Nashville for his fourth stint with the team this season, Surkamp recorded as many outs (seven) as hits allowed. Only once in seven starts has he been able to complete five innings, and his inability to even go four this time forced the A's to get 6 2/3 innings from five relievers.
"For a team this year where so many guys have gotten injured, there's been plenty of opportunity here for me throughout the season, and I haven't done anything with it," Surkamp said. "It's super frustrating. Just haven't been able to put together that success like I have at the Minor League level up here." More >
First-inning defensive gems: The Rangers' defense came up big in the first after the Athletics put runners on the corners with no outs on singles by Billy Burns and Jed Lowrie. Danny Valencia ripped a line drive that third baseman Jurickson Profar snagged with an all-out dive to his left. Davis followed with a run-scoring double into the right-field corner, but Lowrie was cut down on the relay from right fielder Choo to second baseman Rougned Odor to catcher Chirinos.
"Great relay," Banister said. "If we don't get that run, who knows where that inning goes."

Phegley delivers: A's catcher Josh Phegley continued his hot-hitting ways against the Rangers, notching an RBI double in a three-run sixth before coming out of the game in the ninth after taking a pitch to his left knee. Phegley, who hit a three-run home run in Monday's series opener, is a .333 career hitter against Texas, with 12 RBIs in 15 games. Since coming off the disabled list on May 27, Phegley is 8-for-21.
"The one thing that helped was [that] on the rehab assignment I got at-bats every day," Phegley said. "I was gaining some consistency with my approach and seeing live pitching consistently. In this series I'm getting a lot of at-bats. I'm just rolling with it, and I feel pretty good."

UPON FURTHER REVIEW
It initially appeared as though Ian Desmond avoided grounding into an inning-ending double play in the third when Alonso had to leap to catch a throw from Marcus Semien, but umpires overturned the "safe" call on the field after the A's challenged the play, with replay showing that Alonso landed on the bag in time.

Rangers: Left-hander Derek Holland pitches against the Athletics at 9:05 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Holland is 2-3 with a 3.52 ERA in his last five starts.
A's: Right-hander Sonny Gray faces the Rangers on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. PT in his third start since coming off the disabled list. Gray is 7-3 for his career against Texas, with a 1.92 ERA, the second-lowest ERA by an opponent against the Rangers all-time with a minimum of 10 starts.
