Three Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that three Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Free agent Minor League outfielder Anderson Caro has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program. The suspension of Caro will be effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.

Texas Rangers Minor League right-handed pitcher Victor Gonzalez has received a 72-game suspension without pay after testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program. The suspension of Gonzalez, who is currently on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Rangers 2, will be effective at the start of the 2016 DSL season.

Seattle Mariners Minor League left-handed pitcher Joseph Pistorese has received a 50-games suspension without pay after testing positive for Amphetamine, a stimulant in violation of the Program. The suspension of Pistorese, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Everett AquaSox of the Northwest League, is effective immediately.
