Tigers activate Presley, send Adduci to Toledo

DETROIT -- The Tigers activated Alex Presley and from the disabled list on Wednesday. But only Presley is back on the active roster. Adduci was optioned to Triple-A Toledo, where he had been on a rehab assignment since early last week.
The move, according to manager Brad Ausmus, came down to at-bats. Adduci, out since early May with a right oblique strain, hadn't had many. Presley, out for just under two weeks with concussion symptoms sustained running into the outfield wall in Seattle, hadn't missed nearly as much time.
"Adduci needs more at-bats," Ausmus said. "Presley's ready."
Minor League options made that decision easier as well. Adduci had at least one left, while Presley would've had to clear waivers and be designated for assignment.
The move shouldn't have a drastic impact on the Tigers' lineup for the near future. entered Wednesday night's game against the Giants batting .343 (23-for-67) with seven runs scored and nine RBIs since June 1, and he has found a starting role in center field against left- and right-handed pitchers.
