March 16th, 2016

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Mike Gerber and Bryan Holaday each knocked two-out home runs in the second inning to spark the Tigers to a 7-3 win over the Astros on Wednesday afternoon at Osceola County Stadium.
Gerber hit a solo shot, and after Houston starter Brad Peacock walked John Mayberry Jr., Holaday launched a ball over the left-field wall to cap the three-run inning. Holaday went 2-for-3 on the day, adding a single in the top of the fifth.
Ian Kinsler got in on the action later, hitting a leadoff homer in the sixth to give the Tigers a four-run cushion.

Jon Singleton got the Astros on the board in the bottom half of the frame, driving in a pair of runs on a double off the right-field wall. Singleton capped his day by crushing a leadoff homer in the ninth to right off Drake Britton.
Jordan Zimmermann fired three scoreless innings in his third start. The right-hander allowed just two hits, fanned three and didn't yield any walks.

Peacock, who battled injuries throughout the 2015 season, surrendered three runs in three innings in his third appearance.
