DETROIT - The Tigers return to Comerica Park on Friday, April 22 as the Tigers begin a seven-game homestand against the Cleveland Indians, April 22-24 and the Oakland Athletics April 25-28. Friday's game against the Indians is scheduled for 7:10 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday's games are a 1:10 p.m. start time. The first three games against the Athletics are slated for 7:10 p.m., while the series finale will start at 1:10 p.m.

·   Women in Sports: The Detroit Tigers will host their annual Women in Sports event on Friday, April 22 prior to the game vs. the Cleveland Indians at 7:10 p.m. This event will explore the expanding role of women in the professional sports industry. The program will feature a dynamic, interactive panel of female sports executives. The panel will discuss their careers in professional sports, college sports and sports media. Featured panelists include: Emily Griffin (Wayne State University), Miriam Hickey (FIFA), Aileen Villarreal (Detroit Tigers) and Dr. Jen Welter (Arizona Cardinals). This event will take place at 5:45 p.m. in the Blue Moon Brewhouse.
·   Exit Giveaway: Upon exit, 10,000 fans will receive a Shell Eco-marathon 2016 Saltwater car, courtesy of Shell. 
·   Jackie Robinson Day: To commemorate the 69th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball, the Detroit Tigers will host a special pregame on field ceremony. The Club will award Corporate 52 Marketing, a full service marketing and specialty advertising company with the 10th annual "MVDP" Award, which recognizes those Diverse Business partners (DBP) that reflect the character and commitment to excellence of Jackie Robinson. The Detroit Tigers have partnered with Corporate 52 Marketing since 2015. In addition, the Club will recognize the winners of the 20th Annual Detroit Tigers Jackie Robinson Art, Essay and Poetry Contest. The Art, Essay and Poetry Contest was open to middle and high school students throughout the state of Michigan. Students entered the contest by submitting an original essay, poem or work of art that celebrates the core values of Jackie Robinson.

·   Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season at all Friday and Saturday home games. The partner charity for this weekend's 50/50 raffle is the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Their mission is to prevent kidney disease and improve the quality of life for those living with it. Tickets will be sold on a digital platform and are three for $5, 10 for $10 and 40 for $20. The winner will be announced on the Comerica Park scoreboard before the end of the game. The 50/50 Charity Raffle program has raised more than $1.1 million for charity.
·   Stamp Out Hunger: Join the National Association of Letter Carriers in helping to "Stamp Out Hunger" in Metro Detroit while enjoying a Detroit Tigers game. This ticket package includes a lower baseline box, upper box infield, mezzanine or upper reserved ticket, Detroit Tigers knit cap and a donation to the Gleaners Community Food Bank. Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers, who participate in the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive - the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Led by letter carriers represented by the National Association of Letter Carriers (AFL-CIO), with help from rural letter carriers, other postal employees and other volunteers, the drive has delivered more than one billion pounds of food the past 24 years. Saturday, April 23 vs. Cleveland Indians at 1:10 p.m. Gates Open at 11:30 a.m.
·   The first 10,000 fans will receive a Retro Style Mini Bobblehead, presented by FOX Sports Detroit and "April in the D". In conjunction with the giveaway, FOX Sports Detroit will host an interactive fan area in front of the ballpark, featuring the FSD April in the D bobblehead checkerboard and the mascots from the Tigers, Pistons and Lions.
·   2006 American League Champions Anniversary Series: Throughout the 2016 season, the Tigers will recognize the 10-year anniversary of the 2006 American League Championship Team. Players involved in this season-long celebration will participate in a pregame fan Q&A session, and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The first 2006 AL Champion Tiger to be recognized is outfielder Craig Monroe. Monroe will participate in a Q&A session from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Big Cat Court.

·   Autism Awareness: The Detroit Tigers join Major League Baseball to host an on-field pregame ceremony featuring Jack's Place for Autism Foundation along with beneficiaries of the services provided by Jack's Place to recognize Autism Awareness month.  
·   Verlander's Victory for Veterans: This season, for each Saturday home game, Justin Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. Veterans from the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Healthcare System will share 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. ·   Kids Opening Day: The Detroit Tigers, in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will host the seventh annual Kids Opening Day. This festive event is designed to engage young Tigers fans and will feature a number of exciting activities including face painters, jugglers and stilt walkers. The Detroit Tigers hosted a contest to encourage families to submit essays on the topic of how children can stay healthy during the summer. The 21 contest winners will participate in Kids Opening Day honorary activities such as Kid's Take the Field, honorary ticket takers, grounds crew members, TV and radio broadcasters, PA and lineup announcers and various other gameday roles.
·   All kids 14-and-under will receive a Detroit Tigers Baseball Card Team Set, courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Along with the giveaway, cheer cards will be distributed at gates for an in-game contest.
·   The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Kids Opening Day, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Winners Amari White and Detroit Tigers Kids Opening Day Contest Winner Maycen Bennett.
·   The national anthem and God Bless America will be performed by the Detroit Opera Theater Children's Chorus. 
·   All Sunday home games are Chevy Youth Baseball Sunday Kids Days at Comerica Park. ·   Outdoorsman Ticket Package: This ticket package includes an upper box infield, upper reserved, or lower baseline box ticket, a Detroit Tigers fishing lure, and a $5 donation to The Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Proceeds will go toward providing fishing rods, reels and tackle for kids learning to fish at one of many learn-to-fish programs offered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. ·   The game ball will be delivered by Specialist Sean L. Chavez from Oxford, MI of the United States Army. Specialist Chavez recently returned from his first deployment in Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain Division. Specialist Chavez has proudly served the U.S Army for two and a half years.

Wednesday, April 27 vs. Oakland Athletics at 7:10 p.m. Gates Open at 5:30 p.m.
·   Tiger of the Year: Tigers outfielder J.D. Martinez will be presented with the Tiger of the Year Award by the Detroit chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America prior to Wednesday's game vs. Oakland.
·   Golf Lovers Ticket Package: Calling all Tigers fans and golf lovers, the Detroit Tigers have a ticket package that includes an upper box infield, mezzanine, or lower baseline box ticket along with a collectible Detroit Tigers "Poker Chip" ball marker. Class Outside Series- Math Day: The Tigers 2016 Class Outside Series, presented by Oakland University, continues with the third installment, Math Day. Mathematics plays a key role into the way sports General Managers, journalists, and fantasy sports enthusiasts evaluate the performance of professional athletes. This presentation covers the elements of math and how it is applied in baseball. The Tigers welcome special guest, John Brenkus, host of ESPN's "Sport Science" as Math Day's keynote speaker. Topics that will be discussed will include: SABR-metrics, Statistics, Geometry, Ratios, Algebra and the physics of hitting and pitching.

·   Aquafina School Incentive and Reward Program: Over the course of four games, the Detroit Tigers Foundation and Aquafina will host over 10,000 students from area schools to reward and thank students as part of the annual Detroit Tigers School Incentive and Reward Program. On April 28 as part of the School Incentive and Reward Program, a total of 1,500 custom drawstring backpacks will be given away to students courtesy of Aquafina and the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities.
