Detroit Tigers and Delaware North Companies Sportservice to host dinner and shopping spree for underprivileged children

PAWS, Jeff Jones, Rod Allen and Shannon Hogan also to appear

DETROIT - In celebration of the holiday spirit, the Detroit Tigers and Delaware North Companies SportService will treat 50 children and teens in need from Black Family Development and the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange to a special holiday dinner in the Tiger Club, followed by a surprise trip to the Fairlaine Town Center for a holiday shopping spree on Thursday, December 12.

Tigers pitching coach Jeff Jones along with his wife Paula, and Tigers broadcasters Rod Allen and his wife Adrian, and Shannon Hogan will join the youth and their families for a traditional holiday dinner. Following dinner, everyone will board chartered buses and head to Fairlane Town Center where they will meet Detroit's favorite mascot, PAWS, and embark on a shopping extravaganza.

As a result of generous contributions from Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter and his wife Katrina, and FOX Sports Detroit broadcaster Rod Allen, as well as Tigers front office staff members, the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, will surprise each child with a gift card to be used towards gifts of their choice.

The holiday feast begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Tiger Club at Comerica Park, 2100 Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI 48201. The shopping spree will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairlane Town Center, 18900 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI 48126 at the food court entrance near Sears.
