LAKELAND, Fla. -- Victor Martinez's immediate and not-so-distant future is still uncertain.
Martinez hasn't seen game action since leaving Monday's contest against the Mets with a strained left hamstring. With the Grapefruit League season nearing its conclusion and April 5 approaching, the next logical question is whether it's possible Martinez won't be healthy enough to be on the Tigers' Opening Day roster.
"Is there any possibility? Of course there is," said Tigers manager Brad Ausmus, before turning on a sarcastic tone. "There's a possibility that everyone in camp might not be ready. I wouldn't say it's trending that way."

When pressed further about Martinez not being ready for the season, Ausmus said: "It's a possibility."
Martinez has been undergoing treatment and taking part in workouts, but he has yet to swing a bat.
"We'll see how he is tomorrow," Ausmus said. "There's a possibility he may swing a bat tomorrow, soft toss, but we've got to wait and see."
