Murphy hits 2 HRs, including walk-off winner

Rockies No. 8 prospect shows off power in New Britain's win

Rockies No. 8 prospect Tom Murphy had not hit a home run in 16 games before Tuesday night's tilt between Double-A New Britain and Harrisburg. But the catcher launched two in Connecticut, including a walk-off blast to give the Rock Cats an 8-7 win.

Murphy went 4-for-5 and totaled six RBIs on the night. His two-run shot in the fifth inning made it 6-3. Then, down 7-6 with a runner on in the bottom of the 10th, he lifted a long fly ball to left center that left the yard and secured the "W."

While the home runs had not been coming for Murphy in the past few weeks, he had still been driving in runs. The 24-year-old now has nine RBIs in the past three games, and his season line reads .337/.415/.614, with a 1.029 OPS.
