On Tuesday, August 14, the Phillies take on the Boston Red Sox at 7:05 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park.
Then, on Wednesday, August 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m., local television personalities and print newspaper writers will play softball against web and radio personalities to benefit the Police Athletic League prior to the 7:05 p.m. Phillies game.
After the PAL celebrity softball game, PAL representatives will make a pregame presentation to Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco, recognizing him for his community service; also, a PAL youngster, accompanied by Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr., will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. In the 7th inning, PAL kids and a PAL officer will dance on the dugout with the Phanatic.
The Phillies will hold a single-admission doubleheader against the Mets on Thursday, August 16 (rescheduled from Saturday, May 12). Tickets purchased for August 16 are valid for both games of the doubleheader. The first game will begin at 4:05 p.m. and all gates will open at 3:05 p.m. The second game will begin 30 minutes after the end of the 4:05 p.m. game.
Before the first game, Will Power, winner of the 2018 Indianapolis 500, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Plus, it's the final Throwback Thursday of the season; Phillies players will sport 1980s era powder blue uniforms for both games and organist George Akerley will be adding organ music and flavor throughout the first game.
Additionally, Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, will once again partner with the Phillies to host the Goya Latino Family Celebration on Thursday. Highlights include:
ACM award-winning band, Old Dominion, will perform an on-field, postgame concert at Citizens Bank Park on Friday, August 17, after the Phillies host the New York Mets at 6:05 p.m. Each game ticket is also a concert ticket - no additional purchase is required to attend.
On Saturday, August 18, children 14 and under will receive an IBEW Local 98 Jake Arrieta Nickname T-Shirt with Arrieta's nickname "Snake" on the back at the 4:05 p.m. Phillies game.
Saturday is also Bud & Burger Night! Phillies alum Gary "Sarge" Matthews will be at the Boardwalk Eats Burger stand near the Left Field Plaza from 2:45 - 4:00 p.m. to sign autographs and chat with fans. Fans 21 and older are invited to enjoy specials on Budweiser throughout the ballpark. Plus, at the Hatfield grill stands at Sections 106, 120, 135 and 136, and the Boardwalk Eats Burger stand, discounts on Bud & Burgers will be available.
On Sunday, August 19, the Phillies will take on the Mets in the second MLB Little League Classic at the BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field, the home of the Phillies' Class-A Williamsport Crosscutters of the New York-Penn League.
The game will air nationally on ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" and ESPN Radio at 7:10 p.m.
Gate Openings: Ashburn Alley opens two hours prior to game time; all other gates open one and a half hours prior to game time. For the single-admission doubleheader on Thursday, August 16, all gates will open at 3:05 p.m.
