Torii moves up, but Twins need All-Star votes

Veteran outfielder 13th at position; Dozier, Mauer among club's deserving players

MINNEAPOLIS -- For the second consecutive week, right fielder Torii Hunter remains the only member of the Twins among the top American League vote-getters. Fans can vote for the Twins on the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot.

Hunter moved up a spot from last week's ballot update, checking in at 13th among American League outfielders. The 39-year-old entered Monday hitting .281 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs. Hunter had garnered 672,479 votes when Monday's update was released.

Entering Monday, the Twins had best record in the American League by percentage points and were leading the AL Central by a game. Seven members of the second-place Royals found themselves on track to start the All-Star Game, but notable Twins such as second baseman Brian Dozier and first baseman Joe Mauer are not.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.
